I’ve found an old album on a torrent where Michael Jackson reads the story of E.T on a background of sounds and voiceclips from the 1982 Spielberg movie E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial. The tracks comes from the rare-ish boxed double LP ‘E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial’ which incredibly won a Grammy Award in 1984 for Best Recording For Children.
When Jackson accepted the award he stated:” Of all the awards I’ve gotten, I’m most proud of this one”.
It’s a master showcase of American entertainment cheesiness and quite admirable too. The boxset came with a original sountrack (OST) vinyl-disc and a second disc with eigth tracks of which six are the storytelling. Inside the sleeve a special quality poster (as seen above) was found.

You can still find these on eBay, but I guess it will become a collectors item very soon.

Thank you! Thank you for posting! My parents couldn’t find this as a kid for me because it was sold out so I always listened to my neighbor’s tape when I visited with them. You brought back so many memories for me.
Thank you!
Great stuff! Toby loves the photo.
